Her class was going on a field trip from Victoria to Saltspring Island. She became ill on the ride. One of the nuns felt her forehead and said ‘you have a fever’. Mary found some magazines on the boat and read one of them, a Christian Science Sentinel. She loved hearing that God loved her.
The nun came back and told her she didn’t heed to read that magazine, and checked her head again, to find she no longer had a fever.
Mary took it home with her.
