The penny drops — neighbourhood improves!|

One of the students renting a house in our neighbourhood who I met last week while updating Block Watch info, sent this very thoughtful email to me and wanted it passed on to their neighbours. We had talked about how quiet the neighbourhood was … and how sensitive people might be. Some noisy nights continued… Yesterday he wrote:
“We have noticed that we have had some noise complaints over the past week and we are extremely sorry for that. Feel free to give my number to the neighbourhood and have them call us if we are ever being too loud.
We have a couple naturally loud room mates in our house who did not notice how easily the sound travels. We are aware of the situation now and the sound levels (music and voice) should be better in the future. ”
And since that ‘penny dropped’ we haven’t heard a thing…. for about 5 days (and previously we heard a lot of voice weekends and weekday nights)
