The Threshold Housing Society has been operating in Victoria since 1992, offering at-risk youth between the ages of 16 to 21 a safe place to live, grow and work toward their future. We are the only service provider in the area with a semi-independent living program. This means that youth in our houses enjoy a certain level of independence while having the benefit of a live-in supervisor who offers encouragement and mentoring when necessary.
In August 2010, the Board of the Threshold Housing Society adopted a new Mission Statement that reads: “Youth achieving independence though safe, supportive housing solutions.” The implication is, that in the future, the society will look at other options besides semi-independent living for assisting at-risk youth in Victoria.
